Concrete & Landscaping Contractor Serving Pleasanton, CA

Tri-Valley clients, many of them repeat. Repeat clients and referrals across Vintage Hills, Ruby Hill and downtown.

Pleasanton is the southern anchor of our service area, and we have been working here long enough that a meaningful share of Pleasanton calls are repeat clients or their neighbors. One of our longest-standing Yelp reviews comes from a Pleasanton homeowner who has used Ken across several projects over twenty years, which is really the whole pitch: same owner, largely the same crew, still answering the phone.

Pleasanton builds differently than the Contra Costa side of the hill. Lots in Vintage Hills, Val Vista and the Foothill corridor are generous and often terraced already, so much of our work is re-doing hardscape that was installed a generation ago — replacing spalled concrete, resetting settled pavers, rebuilding walls whose original drainage was never there. Toward Ruby Hill and the wineries, the soils are heavier and the grades longer, which means retaining walls with real engineering behind them and drainage that can handle a season's worth of runoff crossing the property. The older Birdland and downtown-adjacent streets are flatter and tighter, where the constraints are access, existing mature trees, and matching new work to a house with real architectural character.

What Pleasanton clients hire us for: stamped and colored concrete patios and driveways, paver driveways, walkways and courtyards, retaining walls and terracing, synthetic turf and backyard putting greens, outdoor living features like built-in BBQ islands and fire pits, fencing, and drainage and French drain systems. Because Pleasanton summers are hot and dry, lawn replacement with turf and low-water planting comes up in most conversations.

We build Pleasanton schedules in full days rather than partial visits, so projects move continuously once we start. Estimates are free and written, Ken does the walkthrough himself, and we will tell you plainly if something in your yard does not need replacing yet.

Pleasanton reviews

What neighbors say.

"I have used Ken at various times, for several different projects throughout the years. He is friendly, professional, and keeps his word. He shows up on time, and his guys do too. Over the 20 years I've known him and his crew, many of the guys are the same ones I originally met. I highly recommend him."

FAQ

Pleasanton questions, answered.

What homeowners here ask us most before we break ground.

Do you really come out to Pleasanton from Martinez?+

Yes — Pleasanton is one of our eight core service cities and has been for decades. We schedule full crew days here so the project runs continuously instead of in fragments.

Can settled pavers be reset instead of replaced?+

Often, yes. If the pavers themselves are sound, the fix is lifting them, correcting and recompacting the base, then resetting and re-sanding. That is a much smaller job than a full replacement.

What does a retaining wall need on a sloped Pleasanton lot?+

Proper footing, reinforcement sized to the height and any surcharge above it, drain rock and filter fabric behind the wall, and a weep or drain line that daylights. Taller walls get an engineer's design and a permit.

Is a backyard putting green practical here?+

Very. Pleasanton is one of our more frequent putting-green markets — contoured pro-grade surfaces with cups and fringe, built over a compacted, drained base so they play true year-round with essentially no watering.
