Ken founded A·K Landscaping & Concrete in 1991 with one truck and a reputation to build. Thirty-plus years later, he's still the one who answers the phone, shows up to the estimate, and stands behind every pour.

Ken started A·K in 1991, fresh out of UC Davis with an agriculturalist's respect for the land and a builder's instinct for doing things the right way the first time. The first truck was used. The first crew was small. The standard was the same one we hold today.
Three decades on, A·K has poured driveways, set retaining walls, and rolled turf for more than a thousand families across Walnut Creek, Danville, Pleasant Hill, Concord, Lafayette, Alamo, Pleasanton, Livermore, and the rest of the East Bay. A lot of them are the second or third project for the same homeowner — and most of our new work comes from a neighbor pointing across the fence.
Ken still walks every estimate and every final. No salesmen, no subs running the show. Just a small, experienced crew, the right materials, and a written warranty that means what it says.

You won't find Ken behind a desk. He's on-site with the crew — running the skid-steer, checking grades, and making sure the work going in today is the work that holds up ten years from now.
Whether it's feeding the chipper at the end of a clean-up day or setting forms for tomorrow's pour, Ken works alongside the crew. It's the only way to know every job leaves the way it should.
