Concord is the city where we do the most straightforward, high-value work: replacing worn driveways, extending patios, and getting rid of lawn that never survives a Concord August. Summers here run hotter and longer than on the Walnut Creek or Martinez side of the ridge, which changes two things in practice — how we pour and what we recommend planting or not planting.

On the pouring side, heat means shorter working windows. We schedule Concord flatwork for early starts, adjust the mix and use curing compound or wet cure so the slab gains strength instead of flash-setting and crazing on the surface. A patio poured at noon in July and a patio poured at seven in the morning are not the same patio five years later. On the design side, that same heat and the water cost that comes with it is why so much of our Concord work is synthetic turf — full back yards for kids and dogs, front-yard lawn replacements, and decorative strips between pavers — plus shade-oriented outdoor living: covered patios, built-in BBQ islands and fire pits that make the yard usable in the evening when the temperature finally drops.

Whatever the project, we quote the real scope: thickness, base, reinforcement, finish and drainage, in writing. If a repair beats a replacement, we will say so.
